The studio on the porch.
The story behind it.
The Studio
Porch & Coffee Creative is a farm brand strategy and design studio built for farmers, ranchers, and agricultural organizations who are ready for a brand that finally does them justice.
This isn't a general design studio that occasionally takes on ag clients. Agriculture is the whole idea, the niche, the focus, and the reason this studio exists. From farm brand identities and campaign strategy to publications and organizational rebrands, every project starts with the same question: does this help the people who grow, raise, and feed our communities tell a better story?
You've already done the hard part. You built something real. This studio makes sure the world can see it.
The Name
The name Porch & Coffee Creative didn't come from a branding exercise.
It came from my mother, Sherri Beaubouef Hayes.
Momma's porch was where everyone was welcome — family, friends, anyone who needed a listening ear or a good conversation over a hot cup of coffee. She was a problem solver and a wise listener. She believed in me as a designer long before I believed in myself. She gifted me a journal to write about starting my own business and left me a letter inside it. It’s everything I need to hear when I doubt myself.
She passed away on November 4, 2021.
I built this studio in her honor. The name is hers. The spirit, unhurried, genuine, and always focused on the person across the table, is hers too. Every project that comes through this studio is my way of continuing to love her.
Momma always said I knew what I was born to do. This is me finally believing her.
Monica's Story
I'm Monica Velasquez — Farm Brand Builder and founder of Porch & Coffee Creative.
I earned my BFA in Graphic Design from Southeastern Louisiana University, but I learned how agricultural branding actually works during my nine years with the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation. There, I handled the strategy and media that went out to 145,000 members across the state. More importantly, I spent those years in the same rooms as farmers, commodity leaders, and rural business owners. I stayed long enough to listen and learn what actually matters to the people doing the work—and what’s just noise.
That experience followed me into three years at North Oaks Health System. My job was building campaigns for rural communities in southeast Louisiana—people who don’t have much use for "slick" and only respond to what’s genuine.
In 2022, I opened Porch & Coffee Creative to put everything I’ve learned to work for the people who deserve it most. Today, much of that work is with the National Women in Agriculture Association. I serve as the Marketing and State Director for Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, as well as the lead state director on the national level. It’s a role that keeps me right where I want to be: standing next to the farmers and advocates shaping American agriculture every day.
I don’t just design for this world. I work in it.
